New Home Warranty
The New Home Warranty is under the Guidelines of the Tarion Corporation:
The One year warranty
The warranty provides coverage for one year from the date of possession and ensures your home:
• is free from defects in work and materials
• meets Ontario Building Code requirements.
The Two year warranty
The warranty provides coverage for a period of two years from the date of possession and ensures your home:
• is free from water penetration through the basement of foundation wall
• is without defects in materials or work resulting in water penetration in the building envelope
• is without defects in materials or work in the electrical, plumbing and heating delivery and distribution systems
• is without defects in materials or work which result in the detachment, displacement or deterioration of exterior
cladding (such as brickwork, aluminum or vinyl siding)
• major structural defects
• has no violations of the Ontario Building Code’s health and safety provisions.
The Seven year warranty
The warranty provides coverage for a period of seven years from the date of possessions and ensures your home:
* is free from any defect in material or work that results in the failure of a load bearing part of the home’s structure or
materially and adversely affects its load bearing function; or
* is free from any defect in materials or work that significantly and adversely affects the use of the building as a home.
